After the long reign of Shani Davis a new skater took the
lead in the Adelskalendern. Roest made his first international mark as the Junior
Allround World Champion 2014, which he repeated the year after. He has gained the
crown in three World Allround Championships; 2018, 2019 and 2020. During 2019 he set
a new Allround World Record. A silver medal on 1500 m in Gangneung 2018 and two silver
medals, 5000 and 10000 m, in Beijing 2022 are his Olympic medals so far.
